Wong # 1
Reflection
"To be an effective teacher" Probably most of us pre-service teachers have uttered this phrase for countless times. It's very useless if you're up to teaching and yet aiming to be effective is non of your goal. Is there really an effective teacher/s? Only individuals who encountered such one can attest that there is, and I'm one of those. Dr. Wong's enlightening discussion on how to be an effective teacher is again can be included in the bucket list of learning. Many striking points were given that will enable a novice teacher surpass stages but heading upward to effective teaching.
Fantasy, Survival, Mastery, and Impact are the stages of teachers development mentioned by Dr. Wong and I think every teacher will undergo the same process. to attain effectiveness. But what strikes me most is one of the characteristic of an effective teacher which is "good classroom manager". If a teacher is excellent in managing the class everything will follow. Every students will be motivated to engage in the teaching-learning process until they achieve successful and meaningful learning. It's just a matter of knowing how to diagnose your students and prescribing the right medications. In that case healthy and nutritious learning experiences will occur.
